Volunteer abroad in Cameroon

Cameroon is located in west-central Africa close to the Gulf of Guinea. Popular because of its diverse range in tradition, weather conditions and geography, it is also given the name as "Africa in miniature". Cameroon's cultural groups possess their own specific cultural forms.

They enjoy, childbirths, yields, demises and other holy ceremonies. Entertainment and social gathering create an essential part of the everyday lives of Cameroonians. Folklore, rites, social gatherings are familiar activities. They have several musical instruments, drums and flutes being the most famous.

The friends and family in Cameroon gather for one-course substantial meal commonly in the evenings. The main meals rely on the tribal people, but rice and yams, cassava, maize, potatoes, fufu (cous-cous) are included in routine meals. Palm wine and millet beer are beloved beverages.

Arts and crafts are an asset to Cameroon. They are useful for religious and commercial uses. The dominating faith is Christianity, but nevertheless there are quite a few traditional and religious groups spread out within the vicinity. Education is poor in Cameroon. Cultivation and Agriculture are chief professions in Cameroon.

Reasons to Volunteer in Cameroon: The most significant hardships in Cameroon are correlated with absence of structure, sub-standard education, orphanages, shortage of meals, etc. Most of the schools in Cameroon currently have overcrowded courses and need to have more skilled teachers. The orphan children wish for love, attention, mentoring and assurance with learning. Rendering young individuals with the basic talent they need in career will help them on their journey to a successful future and free them from poor standards of living, guide them to the same prospects that several other young individuals get.

Volunteering: You can volunteer for foster child homes in Cameroon. Educating is a wonderful option. Subjects like English, Mathematics, Science, Computer skills, dance, music, games, sports, arts and crafts need specific skills which the natives often are short owing to the literacy rate.

Furthermore, helping the native farmers with their produce is yet another way. The area usually belongs to the local child homes where boys and girls grow their own food. You can help with weeding, watering, harvesting.

If you have a medical experience you could actually assist in creating awareness related to sicknesses like HIV/AIDS, malaria etc. and informing the importance of clean of surroundings. You can advise females by counseling, maternity care counseling, spread important information to protect against domestic violence, advise foster parents. There are completely free volunteer schemes and paid volunteer schemes depending on what you really want to do.
