Making Your Wine Tours More Memorable

By Beryl Dalton

When you are a fan of wines, it is important that you also take a trip to the places where this beautiful products are being made. According to those who have been there, it is a very good experience. You will learn a lot of things and get to appreciate the passion and art being poured in to every creation. But if you want to be sure that this would be a trip to remember, there are many things that you have to consider first.

There are several things that you can do to make this vacation something that you would remember. But first, you need to identify the place where you are going for the trip. There are also different winery facilities in Stony Brook, New York that you can visit. If Paris is such a long shot, Stony Brook wine tours can be an option for now.

First thing that you have to prepare are boxes or storage places for the wines that you are going to purchase. You will need this because you will surely buy some of the products. For you to prevent the bottles from crashing into each other and breaking, you need to make sure that they are all protected.

When you go for the trip, you need to make sure that you have a designated driver to drive you back. Or you can just hire someone to take you there and bring you back. This is essential for safety measures. You might be a little tipsy from all the wines that you have tasted. And it would not be a wise decision to drive several miles to and from the city.

If you have kids, you need to make sure that it would be the best choice to bring them along. This is sometimes a once in a lifetime experience. And you would want to make sure that your child would experience it too. But they might get bored when they are holed up with you in the tasting room. Better ask in advance whether they provide entertainment for kids in vineyards you are touring.

You need to make sure that you are on time or earlier than your schedule. What makes the whole experience even better is you get to share some ideas and chat with the owner of the vineyard. And if they are busy attending to other guests, you would not get the once in a lifetime opportunity.

Manners is something that you should not forget. You have to remember that most tasting sessions are free. And this is a product that would cost you a lot when it hits the market. The least you could do is be respectful to the people who have opened up their homes for you and let you drink their finest.

You need to know how to answer the which favorite wine do you like question. This is the usual question of most participants to strike up a conversation with you. A little research would help. And of course misdirection would work as well provided that it is smooth. To be safe, just stick with the research and try to learn as much as you can.

The bar is different from tasting wines. You need to remember that. It would not be right to ask for seconds when you are tasting one particular bottle. And the worst part is that you would ruin the whole experience for the others as well.
