The Natural World With Porcupine Mountains Camping

By Pamela Johnson

The thing about the world is that humanity is at a huge physical disadvantage when compared to every other animal of similar size. Even when whittled down to just the great apes, humankind still ranks near the bottom in terms of physical abilities. But humanity did get something to compensate for its lack of physicality. In exchange for that physicality, humanity got to have better developed brains. Now, they used these brains to realize that living nomadically on the outside was not all that great, considering just how much more powerful that other animals were. So they retreated into houses, safe behind their walls. But that does not stop individuals from leaving those walls and going Porcupine mountains camping.

There a number of reasons to go camping. Some campers may want to reconnect with the natural world. But then some people camp not because camping is the experience in and of itself, but because they are going something else that requires them to be away from civilization.

With any activity, there is going to be some equipment that is needed. A painter needs brushes and an easel, not to mention the paint itself. So a camper will need some things like a tent, to sleep in, and a sleeping bag, to make that sleep a little bit more comfortable. Now, there is also going to be some other things that are going to have to be packed in the bag, like a compass and a knife. Plus some matches, because a fire will be needed, and a flare, in case the position needs to be made known.

Now, there should be some measures taken to ensure safety. First of all, the normal camp grounds should be stuck to, just to make sure that no one ends up in the stomach of an animal. Then there should be a fire, not one that burns throughout the night, but it should burn long enough to let the other animals know that apex predators abound in the area.

Now, there are predators out there. Those predators like to eat meat. Human bodies have quite a bit of meat on them. So people should do all they can to avoid tangling with predators. This can be achieved with fire. Years of being hunted have made many animals naturally wary of mankind, and nothing lets an animal know that there are humans around like fire.

Now, a camper should also understand the land. That means having a general idea of how the grounds are laid out. That way, they will be able to find their way back to their campsite in the event that they get lost.

The compass is also something that should be read. The compass will tell a person which direction they are going in. That can be very useful if a person gets lost, as it is absolutely needed to find the way back to a campsite.

The most useful tool in the arsenal is the knife. Ask any survival expert, they will all say the same thing. That the most important tool to have is a knife. That is because anything can be done with a knife. Digging, cutting through the brush, and especially self defense. Nothing has as much versatility as knives do, so a dagger should be part of the arsenal when packing for a camping trip.

Living was not meant to be easy. But humankind is nothing if not stubborn. So it made life easy. But there are those who want to make it less so, to experience the intensity that comes with adversity.
