The Robert J Novins Planetarium - Celebrating 35 years as your place for space. It's an amazing new dome shaped theater with all kinds of special effects. Definitely a place to visit while in Tom's River.
Cattus Island - This county park is 497 acres of unspoiled nature. There are numerous hiking trails as well as a butterfly garden and amazing collections of snakes and reptiles. Bring the kids for an experience they won't soon forget.
Downtown Walking Tour - This walking tour is in the village or downtown area of Tom's River. It is only seven blocks in length and can take less than a half an hour if no stops are made. If you visit the museums, browse through the library and stop at the County Administration Building to pick up literature, it can take two hours or more.
Specialty Shopping - The regional shopping center for this area is the Ocean County Mall. If you have little ones this may be the spot for you and your family.
