Get Cheap Airline Tickets With These Amazing Tips

By Bruce Wiley

If you fly frequently, then you take into account a frequent flyer program.

Frequent flyer programs can offer long-term discounts, so don't always buy the cheapest ticket. You could end up saving money once you factor in the free tickets that you eventually qualify for. Try to imagine how many trips to Singapore it would take to accumulate enough frequent flyer miles just to get a free domestic ticket, which is why this is an especially good strategy for those who often fly overseas.

Have you checked the airline's own websites?

Restricting yourself to the major airlines is not your only option. There are national and regional carriers that offer cheap airfare as well. For example, China airlines might offer cut-rate airfare to Beijing.

Try checking online travel agencies

Travel agents purchase air tickets at a discount by buying in bulk from the airlines, so they can often offer you cheaper rates than the airlines.

Be flexible.

Often, cheap airfares are only available on certain days and they would require you to stay a certain minimum time.

The small agents in ethnic enclaves are the ones you should try.

An example would be going to Little Tokyo and checking out the small agencies if you live in a big city and want a ticket to Japan. Check out little Italy if you want to go to Rome.

Book in advance.

Normally cheaper than last minute purchases are tickets that are booked in advance.

How about buying an air courier service?

Air courier services are companies that buy your luggage allowance in exchange for discounted tickets. Often, they are reserved for international travel although they are the cheapest tickets available. However, take note that you may only bring carry-on luggage.

Become a student.

An International Student ID Card will get you lots of places cheap.

Offer to pay your way aboard an unregistered cargo plane by cleaning toilets and mopping the deck (bring along a parachute and you can stop anywhere you like - for the very adventurous only!).
