By Bill Duggen

It is certain that your car will need new tires at some stage. You have a wide variety of places where you can go to get your tires. You can get tires from all the major companies. In addition, some tire stores sell all kinds of brands. Most of these outlets have specials and discounts.

One place where merchants have been selling tires is at Town Fair Tires. While this is a good place to get a good bargain on tires, you must be on the lookout for tire scammers how frequent these places.

You probably know already that there are many brands of tires. Of these you would have heard of some, others probably not. Know your tires before going to Town Fair Tires. These guys may rip you off if you are not careful and know more about your tires.

An extra thing to know is that you don?t need alignments and any other add-ons they will try to sell you. These just drive up the price and often have you coming back for adjustments and more money.

Another customer?s son went in to have the winter tires replaced with summer tires. He was told by a manager that 4 new tires were needed. As it happens the boy?s father had inspected and changed the boys tire before he left home.

They had tried fooling the boy into buying four unneeded new tires.

There is another story of a man who tried to get tires for his wife?s Lexus. Toyota tires he was talked into buying by the salesman. The salesman assured him they were good for 75,000 miles. He paid $730 for them. He asked them to take the best of the old tires and put it on his spare. They did not do it, as he checked before he left. It took an additional 30 minutes to do that. Later, he found out they failed to balance the tires so he took it in again. On this occasion he was told he had two bent rims. In about 115 days, he noticed a ball sized protrusion on one of the tires. As he had been assured of the warranty he took the tire back in. The people there said it was caused by a pot hole. As his tire on the car was discounted and a fee of $14.00 wasn?t paid, the warranty didn?t apply he was told.

Town Fair Tires gave one customer great deals on his tires. The tires were out of balance and he had to go back three times. The car still shakes at 55 miles an hour, the man says.

One customer went in to have winter tires put on his truck. On inspection later he discovered that there was damage to where the weights were. To the manager he showed pictures he?d taken of the damage. The manager told him they would have them refinished free. Later, the manager called back and told him the regional manager refused to pay for the refinishing.

This company has many customers with similar problems. If you want tires from Town Fair Tires, think twice before you do.
