If you prefer them beforehand, you do not need to stop just to get them while you are working.

Look for a place where you are comfortable painting. If you want to stand in front of the aquarium just to draw the fish that you are interested in, then go ahead just as long as you are comfortable doing that. If you are comfortable in an open place, then look for one within the area.

It is better for you to aim to complete your work in the soonest time possible. If you can finish it in one go, then that should be ideal for you. You will not have any difficulties with your schedule if you can really finish what you are thinking to paint in one sitting.
