Physical And Psychological Training For Kilimanjaro Expedition

Mountaineering is one of the best hobbies in the world. It is always a great thing to climb a mountain. At the end of the whole affair, one normally experiences a feeling of accomplishment and also the state of the body would have greatly improved. One of the mountains worth climbing is Mount Everest. The other one is Mount Kilimanjaro. To succeed, one will need training for Kilimanjaro. There is need to be prepared in every possible way so that to avoid problems during the expedition. Often times, those who succeed are those who are well prepared.

The key to mountaineering success is early preparation. It is not just about buying the right gear. It is also about learning how to use such gear. One must start to train, a few months before the expedition. As the date of the adventure nears, exercising should start going from high intensity to low intensity. One must have a solid plan.

First and foremost, one should get in shape. If one has weight issues, mountaineering will be a big challenge. Thus, losing weight is an important step. One should not go on a radical diet or adopt other radical measures for losing weight. For success to happen easily there is the need for a reasonable eating plan and exercise regimen.

Joining a gym is an important step. Things are always easy when a third party is involved. DIY measures can fail to work because a person will lack an accountability partner. Thus, he will be free to do what he feels like doing. For the case of gym exercising, goals are set and one needs to work hard to meet them.

A core part of training for mountaineering is aerobic training. This is what will prepare the heart and the lungs for the adventure. At the end of the day, success or failure will be determined by how these organs can handle low attitude conditions. Aerobics will increase the capacity of the heart and the varied blood vessels. Running will help.

Lifting weights is just as important as aerobic training. Every day, one should lift weights that help in building a particular area. One should not build an area more than two consecutive days. Lifting weights alone will not help in muscle creation. There will be also need to indulge in a healthy diet that is rich in vitamins, carbohydrates and proteins.

Physical strength is not enough. A person will also need mental strength. There is power in the mind. When the going gets tough, the people who are mentally strong will survive against all odds. Reading books and having self confidence will greatly help with boosting mental strength. One must be mentally prepared for the mountaineering task in question.

Every year, many people successfully complete mountaineering expeditions. This people do not succeed because of luck or natural ability. They succeed because of diligently preparing for the whole affair. Luck has nothing to do with mountaineering success. On the other hand, natural ability facilitates less than one percent of the final outcome. Therefore, the ninety nine percent has to do with hard work.
