Capitalism, corporatism and materialism are three areas which often prevent individuals from living a free and uncluttered life. Although, the new trend of tiny living has people changing all over the world. For, there are now individuals whom are realizing how different life can be when it comes to simplicity versus chaos and clutter. In one case, by moving out of a home and into an RV after creating an airstream RV life inspiration travel plan.
To better aid others in looking at the option of RV living, a couple has provided a great story related to the experience. The first part discusses how the two woke up one morning, then hopped into a red pickup to go pick up an airstream trailer, affectionately named Charlie. While the couple had a great experience and everything was on the up and up when paying for the RV in advance sight unseen, individuals may want to be cautions as situations like this are often scams.
One couple paid up front based on an ad sight unseen for the airstream. In this case, the two were lucky as the transaction was not a scam. Whereas, there are a number of these type of listings being posted by people other than the owners of apartments, houses, RVs, tiny houses and mobile homes attempting to obtain funds, then skipping out with the money.
Upon acquiring the airstream, the couple then realized there were a number of unanswered questions. Fortunately, a relative whom was RV knowledgeable was able to help answer the questions and hitch the trailer to the pickup. Although, it still took lessons and hours of practice in order to learn how to successfully hitch the trailer.
While the husband had been looking forward to the journey for quite some time, the wife seemed somewhat hesitant. The reason was not of being afraid of driving the trailer or setting it up for the move or at RV parks, it was just a huge transition after having lived in a stationary home for so long. Whereas, the overall RVing experience was still something that was yet to be discovered in the future.
During the drive, according to the wife, husband Steve drove very well, especially with regards to taking wide turns, signaling like a truck driver and took it slow and easy. Next came practice, practice in reversing the trailer in the parking area of an abandoned outlet mall. The couple exited the pick-up and after angling in out of several parking spaces, the couple mastered the process.
The couple had a small incident of flying bales of hay on the highway though most debris fell into other lanes. Later, the husband maneuvered the RV onto a cul-de-sac in front of what was house of sticks and bricks that afternoon. While Steve's day was done, the wife's was just beginning as it was now time to move belongings into the RV.
After having downsized for months, there was more each one had to let go of before moving into the RV. During the process, it was difficult to figure out what to keep and what to let go of while also requiring a great deal of compromise. For, anytime an individual or couple downsizes from a large home to a tiny one, it is often hard to let go of things, especially ones with monetary or sentimental value.
