The majority of island tours and different hotel packages that you can see in Bora Bora will typically include a visit to the village. The villages that you can see all over Bora Bora symbolize the warm, rich and laid-back island life that everyone wants to have. Just thirty minutes from the airport in Tahiti, you can find the beautiful village of Vaitape; Vaitape is considered to be the main village in Bora Bora and it is always recommended that you visit this place.

Anau is the perfect place for a village visit if you are interested in an old-fashion but charming village. This particular village of Bora Bora is located on the eastern portion of the island and also, the place is not visited by numerous tourists unlike the first two villages. It is always suggested to tourists to come visit Anau village if they are interested in knowing and coming into contact with the magic and attraction that the quaint Polynesian village can offer them. Ancient temples can be found here in this village. If you want to learn how to dive, Anau has the perfect spot for it or you can just try snorkeling. A number of sea animals can be seen in this side of Bora Bora lagoon such as clown fishes, sea anemones, manta rays that are so big, moray eels, as well as sharks.

This place has a big dockside and also has a public square. You can find numerous shopping centers here in this part of Bora Bora and buy clothing, souvenirs, an extensive array of handicrafts, and last but not the least, their celebrated black pearls.

Another admired village you will see in Bora Bora is Faanui. Faanui implies to the name of the bay as well and not just the village; Faanui can be found on the coast of Bora Bora on its northwestern side. You can find Farenua in Faanui; Farenua is the most gigantic marae in the whole of Bora Bora and considered to be one of the most amazing sight in the island. Marae is the name of the place where sacred worships happen and this place is made out of stones. The green valley situated in Faanui is a must for your village visit and this visit is usually included on various safari explorations, and the highlight of this particular trip is the amazing view that you can have of the Faanui Bay when you reached the mountains.

A good number of hotels and other accommodations are situated in Vaitape and this is also the place where numerous ferries tie up. It is situated diagonally on the Teavanui Pass and you will notice that the one and only entrance is this Teavanui Pass to the famed Bora Bora Lagoon. You can also see the seat of their local government of Bora Bora in Vaitape.
