Very Romantic Motion Pictures That'll Get You To Chuckle

By Elizabeth Richardson

So romance is serious business. Or could it be? Exactly what do you think your spouse would choose if put to the test. 1. Watch the beautiful tearjerker film, The Notebook. 2. Do anything that does not involve watching The Notebook

My personal response is easy. My husband would opt for a root canal instead of sitting via a movie like the Notebook or Terms of Endearment. Now don't get me wrong. That doesn't mean he is not romantic. The man loves deeper than I could describe. He's simply not a fan of traditional 'romance movies'.

Each of our date nights usually involve Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler, Owen Wilson, or Jim Carrey. Those men don't know this, but they're a huge section of why our marriage is such a joy. The fact that our date nights consist of an enjoyable film instead of a forced moment means that my hubby is happy and relaxed - two excellent things for romance.

Are you searching for a lighthearted fun romantic motion picture that both you and your husband will enjoy? Here are some of our favorites.

The Princess Bride - "Is this a kissing book?" The Princess Bride may be the story of a woman who is being forced to marry a chilly, evil prince, while her true love tries to stop the marriage.

I don't know how often I tried to get my husband to view this film until finally I simply placed the movie in, clicked 'play', and hid the remote. It's actually now one of his favorite movies. He likes it due to the comedy and the fighting. I really like it because it's simply a joy to view.

Groundhog Day - After grudgingly going to cover Punksatawney Phil for Groundhog Day, a weatherman gets stuck living exactly the same day repeatedly.

This is just one of my husband's all-time favorite films. Plus, if your husband is keen on Caddyshack, he'll appreciate Bill Murray battling a rodent once more.

The Wedding Singer - Robbie, the wedding singer and Julia, the waitress are both engaged to become married but with the wrong people.

Any man who remembers the 80s will thoroughly enjoy this. And, all women will be teary-eyed when Robbie sings "Grow Old with You" at the end.

Fun With Dick and Jane - Dick and Jane are living the good life, till Dick is setup as the fall man for the corporation he works for. With no job, no financial savings, no type of pension, as well as residing in shame inside their own neighborhood. Things get worse once they get a foreclosure notice. It's away on a insane crime spree, but, wait... go see the end for yourself.

Romance does not need to be serious. It may be enjoyable! Just enjoy each other. Today go grab a funny motion picture, cuddle up with your hubby and enjoy.
