Creating A Cute Stuffed Dinosaur

By Odessa Edwards

If one has a kid or just simply loves arts and crafts, then it would be a very fun challenge to make a stuffed dinosaur from scratch. Of course this might take a bit of time to actually make but it is definitely a lot of fun and will provide a very satisfying feeling when it is done. One may even use it as gifts to give to a nephew or the child of a friend.

Of course the first step to creating anything from scratch would be to find a reference point so that one has something he can base his creation on. So the best thing to do here would be to search for a template or pattern on how to make dinosaurs. With the technology these days, it is so easy to find templates all over the internet.

If one has already determined what kind of design he would want for his creation, then the next step would be to gather some good materials and the fabric that would be good for the process. Now when he gets to the store, he will be choosing from different colors ranging from purple, blue, red, and more. He must just always keep in mind that he should always buy a good and sturdy fabric that does not get torn easily.

With all of the materials at hand, one may now concentrate on figuring out how to sew the fabric together in order to make the stuffed toy. At this point, it will be his choice on what method he would want to use whether he would like to do it the old fashioned way by using a needle and thread or if he would just like to use a sewing machine. If he uses a sewing machine, he will be faster but he might miss out on some details. If he does it manually, he will take longer but he will have the chance to be more meticulous.

So now one should begin sewing the fabric together in order to make the dinosaur the sewing process. It is always important to leave a small hole where one can stuff cotton or poly fill. Carefully follow the template so that everything will fall into its proper place and that nothing will go wrong.

So once everything has been sewn up and the hole has been made, take some cotton filling and fill up the whole thing. By filling the whole thing up, the stuffed toy will be nice and soft. When one has done that, he can now sew the hole up.

Lastly, check it for any stray holes that were not dealt with earlier while in the sewing process. If there are any holes or small openings, sew them up with a needle and thread so that the stuffing will not come out. If there are any stray threads that are sticking out, cut them out so that they do not show.

So if one is interested in making a stuffed dinosaur, here are the steps to follow. Take note that one must be very meticulous when working with fabric. If he is not, things will not turn out the way he wants.
