Great Reasons To Go To Sunny South Africa

By Kyle Olsen

South Africa is one of the most preferred holiday destinations globally. Granted, summer is the most popular time of year as this season is warm and dry, which allows for plenty to see and do, for all age groups.

When you decide to see South Africa, the logical, 1st option destination is Cape Town. Cape Town is called the Mother City and rivals some of the most lovely cities in the world. In reality, it is believed that Cape Town beats Sydney and San Francisco hands down, as the world's best city. No argument there! And just to drive that home, Cape Town has actually gained award after award for World's Cleanest Beach and Africa's Leading Destination, just to name two ... of the 22 awards!

So then, what exactly is there to do in Cape Town? Well, Cape Town has the spectacular Table Mountain, which vacationers can ride up in the cable cars and enjoy the spectacular views. In summer, you can even have a picnic at the top or walk up the mountain. On clear days, the views are impressive and perfect for taking the most lovely photos. Cape Town alone makes holidays to South Africa so worth the trip! However, there is so much more to see and experience.

When you check out South Africa, you have to make time to visit some of the beaches. We have three "Blue Flag" beaches in and around Cape Town. They are some of the cleanest, whitest and most beautiful beaches in the world. The water temp will depend on which beach you check out, so be aware of that. For example, along the West Coastline, the waters are freezing but terrific for surfing (in some spots), if you are brave enough, and in Gordon's Bay, the water is pleasant and warm to swim in. He or she will advise you regarding cold and warm water beaches if you are visiting and are with a tour guide. If you are traveling on your own, then Google will be a huge help, however then so will the locals, if you ask somebody, as they are really friendly and laid back.

An additional landmark of Cape Town is the V&A (Victoria and Alfred) Waterfront, which has a large mall with a really diverse and big, food court. At night, the V&A transforms into a wonderland of sound and light as the dining establishments fill up and live bands can be heard everywhere. You can even book a meal on a floating dining establishment and take pleasure in the waterfront view from the deck of a boat.
