By Adrian Fletcher

The Romantic Road, which will bring you from Bavaria to the foot hills of the German Alps, is definitely the perfect dive for any tourist looking to see the country at its best. Being about 261 miles long, realistically, a person could positively drive through it in one day- but then again, what is the point of taking it if you are just going to speed on by. Now what would be romantic about that? So take is slow and enjoy the gorgeous ride.

But with quite a lot of places to stop by, here are the ones that you really should definitely not skip.

Wrzburg

If you want to get some fine wine, and some fine dining, Wrzburg is positively the area to stop over and relax. What else would you expect since it is located right in the Franken region which is famous for their wine. Of course, along with the wine, there are numerous vineyards too, and, if you are fortunate, maybe even a wine fest. But definitely one of the top attractions of this area would need to be the Residence Palace- a true sight to visit.

Rothenburg ob der Tauber

Rothenburg ob der Tauber is certainly the closest you will get to reliving the medieval times. In all of Germany, this town is positively the best preserved medieval town of its kind. In English, red fortress about the Tauber, this town will in fact give you a glimpse into their rich past.

Castle Hotel Colmberg

The Castle Hotel Colmberg is the best area to get some shut eye. After all, why settle for just another hotel when you may actually check in to a 1000 year old castle? How is that to give you the real German experience? This is one fine-looking spot that you will definitely remember for a lifetime. Just be ready to walk up some stairs, as, staying true to its roots, it is the only option you have- no elevators here.

Neuschwanstein

Nearing the Bavarian Alps you will in fact find one of the top ten tourist attractions in all of Germany- Neuschwanstein. Unlike the Castle Colmberg, you won't have the luxury to spend the night. But they do offer a 30 minute guided tour that you must certainly take.
