By Tijan Linnet

How can you possibly decide? Regardless of your answer, here are some tips to help you.

Booking travel online is a great way to get everything done at once. For help planning your trip, let a travel site help you. You are able to reserve hotels, rental cars, and flights online. All major travel websites have images of the hotels in their listings. They also include ratings and reviews by users who have stayed at the hotels. These websites also include special deals when your flight and hotel are booked together in a single package. They also offer discounts when vacancy is high or when you are traveling at the last minute.

One of the most important things you can do to prepare for travel is to itemize what you need to pack. You should make this list around a week to a couple months in advance so that you absolutely know what needs to be packed. That way, even if you wait to pack until you're in a time crunch, the list can help you avoid clutter and to stay organized.

Beware of emails concerning travel deals. Be wary of any email that you receive, unless you are familiar with the company.

If you have to drive a distance to the port to get on a cruise, drive there the night before and stay at a hotel that has free parking. Always ask the hotel staff for the policies and pricing on parking at the hotel and whether deals are available.

Keep in mind that you are not the only person staying in your hotel. Do not slam doors and maintain a loud presence when you are staying at hotels. Even mid-day, someone may be napping or recovering from a bad case of jet lag. Tiptoeing is unnecessary, but they'd appreciate you keeping it down.

Always tip the housekeeper and bell station. You should tip the bell hop around one dollar per bag that they carry. Tipping ensures good service and is sure to make your interactions with hotel staff more pleasurable.

In order to get a cheaper currency exchange rate, make sure to wait until your destination to exchange your money. If you know there won't be a place to easily exchange currency once you land in your destination country, exchange a limited amount before you leave and then look for a better exchange rate once you arrive in-country.

If you are taking children with you on a trip where you will be driving a rental car, do not forget to bring their car seats. When you lease a car yours will probably not give a better car seat, so think ahead by bringing your own car seat.

Do not panic if your bags have not arrived at your destination. Visit the lost baggage office and present your flight documents to them. They can help to locate your luggage and get it to you. Usually your luggage will turn up, and you will be reconnected with it as soon as possible.

Following these tips should make your traveling adventures smoother and more enjoyable. No matter what your destination is, you will have fun and enjoy yourself more if you can sit back, relax and think about the money you have saved yourself.
