How To Save Money When Planning Your Wedding

By Joseph Tranturder

Summer is fast approaching, and those brides looking for a last minute spring wedding are growing anxious. The time is running out as the temperature is rising. The following are a few ideas to help brides prepare weddings that can stand the heat, just before summer shows its burning face. Study the following 8 considerations to help you plan for your late spring wedding.

You must also try to fit both you and your partner's families into the mix. All in all, planning a wedding is most likely going to be extremely stressful. Not only are weddings stressful, but they are expensive. It is your wedding and so naturally you want only the best.

Consideration 2: shady side. Put the wedding and festivities on the east side of a building or the trees to block the heat of the setting sun. You should also consider holding the reception after your wedding in a hotel. Many hotels offer beautiful spaces that would be perfectly appropriate for a wedding reception. If you live in the Stamford area, there are many hotels in Stamford that offer their spaces for weddings and wedding receptions. You could hold your wedding outside and then hold your reception in one of the many beautiful hotels in Stamford.

If, however, a family does decide to take a vacation to the east coast during the winter months, they should remember that the central to northern parts of the east coast will have winter weather and will perhaps have fewer attractions open to the public during the winter season. New England winters can be a great skiing destination, however, so if that is the type of vacation the family desires than winter would the appropriate season.

Holding your wedding during the winter months may not be what you had in mind. But if you need to save money, that is a great way to do it. Holding your wedding during a winter month will also help you to save on a lot of other parts of your wedding. Caterers and florists are also going to be offering their services at a cheaper rate during the off-season.

Consideration 5: wooden fan programs. Make your programs into sturdy fans that your guests can use when the heat becomes too much. Guests will turn their programs into fans anyways, so why not give them a better quality option that they don't feel rude using? They also make a great shot for your wedding photography specialist to keep an eye out for.

Consideration 6: ice cream refreshments. Aside from the water, no treat screams summer festivities like ice cream refreshments. Give it to them on a cone, stick, or in a cup. The refreshment will lift spirits while cooling down visitors.

It will probably be interesting to spice things up a bit anyhow. Another huge way to spend money is to decide what your priorities are before you start spending. Sit down with your partner and decide what parts of your wedding are going to be the most important to you. Those are the things you're going to want to spend the most money on.

Consideration 8: bug spray. This particular favor will largely be circumstantial. Some areas are more bug infested than others. If yours isn't too bad, you might not need to purchase this. If your location attracts a lot of mosquitos, bees, or other obnoxious pests though, you'll want to provide bug spray for guests to use on their way in. Also consider putting up a few bug lamps throughout to make sure the bugs have no inkling to come near. With the heat of the day at your backs, your guests won't suffer, and your wedding photography will reflect that. You'll be better satisfied with the events of the day, as will your guests. It's not too late for that dream spring wedding.
