Finding A Job In Manchester

By Clare Westwood

Working In Manchester City Centre

Working in Manchester can be exciting and challenging, although geographically it is not too far from London it is many miles away in other respects. The city of Manchester had a population of around three million and there is much more of a sense of community than in other big cities.

The idea of working in London is often appealing but for many people Manchester seems a more interesting and attractive option. Manchester also has the largest student population outside of London.

Finding accommodation in Manchester is not too big a task. There are lots of houses, flats, house shares and apartments within the city. There are also lots of affordable hotels for when you have family or friends visiting.

Like all cities, Manchester is made up of lots of different areas, some are nicer than others. The roughest areas are Moss Side and Hulme which are also closest to the student village. Crimes such as muggings often occur and you should avoid these areas at night. Obviously houses and flats outside of this area are higher in price but you will save money on travelling so it may be worth it.

If you wish to venture further out of the city centre then the south of the city is possibly the best area to choose. Areas such as Didsbury are popular upmarket choices for those wishing to commute. There are brilliant transport links into the city centre from Didsbury.

Dining out in Manchester is a big treat. Whether it is a bargain fish and chips you want or a more upscale meal you won't be disappointed.

Manchester is one of the UK's least expensive cities to live and work in and there are lots of opportunities available. For help finding a job you should register with a good recruitment agency.
